We are now offering puppy training which would include housebreaking, crate training and beginner obedience training.
This added service would be beneficial to those wanting a puppy, but have limited time to get through the initial puppy stages of housebreaking, crate training, mouthing, etc.
Your puppy would be exposed to a home situation, socialized with other dogs and children, as well as introduced to traveling in a vehicle to run errands, meeting new people and seeing new places to help provide a well balanced pup in any social circumstance.
Three options are available:
2 Week Training Package -
$600
(ie: from 10 to 12 weeks of age)
- crate training;
- beginner housebreaking;
- introduction and socialization with other dogs and children;
- beginner leash walking;
- basic commands such as sit, down, leave it
- exposure to traveling in the car
4 Week Training Package -
$1000
(ie: from 10 to 14 weeks of age)
- crate training
- housebreaking
- introduction and socialization with other dogs and children
- leash walking
- beginner obedience training
- basic commands such as sit, down, leave it, shake a paw, wait
- exposure to traveling in the car
- extra vaccinations
6 Week Training Package -
$1400
(ie: from 10 to 16 weeks of age)
- crate training
- firming up housebreaking
- continued introduction to other dogs and children, including visits to public parks, public events
- leash walking integrating commands - heel, sit, stand, stay
- continued obedience and manners
- firming up basic commands
- further exposure to traveling in the car
- final puppy and rabies vaccinations

Our new Aussiedoodle "Baxter" called our names as we reviewed the
Blazing Star Doodle website. As a working couple, we decided to
enroll Baxter in the 6 Week Training program and are thrilled we did.
Although it was difficult to wait the extra 6 weeks for our new puppy,
Nikki kept us updated via email on a regular basis, including progress
reports and pictures. Our pup finally arrived in Halifax, NS - calm
and ready to settle in with our family.
To our delight, Baxter's training was everything we had hoped for and more.
Baxter had clearly learned all of the commands, no accidents, socializes

My daughter and I are one of the lucky ones who were able to receive one of the puppies from Blazing Star Doodles. We requested that Nikki do the two week training program with our Labradoodle "Henry" . I cannot say enough great things about this breed and the obvious impact that the training period had on our pup!
I really didn't have that many expectations considering it was such a short time period however, within one day at his new home Henry was housetrained, was obviously well socialized with all different types of dogs, people and particularly loves kids(thanks Riley and Janelle!). He walks on the leash with me as if I was the "Dog Whisperer" and enjoys his kennel. I'm not sure I could ask for anything more!
Aside from the training program that Nikki & family provided, all of her recommendations for reading, toys and other suggestions were extremely helpful! He has been with us now for almost three weeks and only chews his toys, sits, lies down, shakes a paw, comes when called and retrieves toys by name all on command -now if only I can get him to wash and dry his feet before he comes in the house during this very wet, muddy Spring weather ;-).
